Nicaragua Los Jilgueros Honey

Brown sugar and caramel custard accent a cup brimming with flavors of butter and chocolate wafer.

Henry Padilla farms at Los Jilgueros (the Goldfinch) in the nature reserve of Las Sabanas, in Somoto, Madriz. The entire farm is under a dense shade canopy which, combined with the high altitude of 1,200-1,600 meters, slows the maturation rate of the Bourbon and Caturra coffee cherries. Los Jilgueros is a multiple Cup of Excellence Winner, including this year. We secured an exclusive lot of Henry Padilla’s coffee and contracted to have it processed at the Florencia dry mill in the honey method. Honeyed coffee allows more intensity in sweetness and body. Los Jilgueros delivers both with the best cup from Nicaragua we have tasted in years!
