Peru Origin Trip 2010 Day 5
Day 5 is unfortunately about leaving the coffee growing region of Cusco. We are racing against the clock to be in the city of Cusco before midnight when the road strike begins. While it will be nice to see the city of Cusco and have a few hours to be a tourist it’s still deeply disappointing.While I feel the sourcing of these coffees is already underway, with impressive quality lots being put aside for us at Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. I’m sad not to meet more of the producers and see their farms. Next Year, right?
We expect the first shipment of these Peru Colca, Quebrada and Quillabamba coffees to arrive in Olympia around November. They will plan a big part in Winter Big Truck and Holiday Blend. I also expect that we will see at least 3 farmer micro lots out of this project.
I have so much faith in Peru to develop into a truly remarkable origin that rivals that of Brazil in Production and tops out some of the best tasting coffees in the world.
