In the province of Estelí in the hillsides of steep mountains you’ll find the farm Las Termópilas. This is the first year that farmer Milton Canales has won this prestigious award but the Cup of Excellence is not unfamiliar to his family. Milton’s father Daniel took first in the 2004 competition. The Canales are known for their sustainable growing practices. They use progressive gardening techniques like revitalizing the soil with compost crafted from earthworm castings, coffee grounds and parchment. The careful farming of the coffee, as well as the elevation of the farm at over 1400 meters above sea level and the micro-climate of the Nueva Segovia region contribute to the astounding cup quality. With only 17 bags available world-wide we are exceedingly please to offer this coffee for a limited time. Stop by the Cherry St. Roasting Works to pick up a cup or some beans.
