Coffee Education

One of my favorite things about Olympia Coffee is the opportunities for education. This is an area where we really excel. Last weeks Espresso 101 filled up with 10 people from six different companies. Tonight's Latte Art class is already filling up. If you work at a place that serves Olympia Coffee and haven't been to a coffee class, you should go. We offer classes at the roastery every Wednesday at 6pm. The classes range from basic extraction to espresso machine maintenance.

The opportunities for education don't end there. On Thursdays The Cupping Room hosts open coffee cuppings at noon. It is a great way for anyone to learn about coffee. You don't have to be a coffee expert to taste coffees from different origins and compare them. Cupping coffee can improve your palette and help you access your preferences.

It's amazing the way education expands exponentially. Every class I teach I feel like I learn something new from the baristas who attend and they go back to there shops a little more educated. I think that helps improve the quality of their drinks and often times the baristas pass along new information to their fellow employees, as well as their customers.

We live in the northwest where exceptional coffee is a way of life. If your not coffee educated, your missing out on some of the best the northwest has to offer, get educated.
